Alex, glad to hear it worked for you... Make sure to share the "chisel trick" with others next time you see someone thinking a Charnley, Arkansas PHIG or other similar hard stone is a piece of junk because they haven't prepped it correctly! Happy honing!

I know for a fact that none of my stones are a piece of junk! You just have to go about it the right way which is one reason why I haven't used my Charnley Forest yet!

Good for you! Many people don't though, which is why every time I share stone prep info I also ask others to share the info. I can't even count the number of times I have seen people post that Arks and CF stones etc. are too coarse or leave too harsh of a finish to be used on a razor.
