    Default My 325 diamond plate

I bought a 325 diamond plate last year to lap my stones with and after not quite a year thought it was warn out. It really looked like the center was gone or warn down. I was looking to buy a new one when I remembered reading something about cleaning the plates with different detergents. I got to looking and what I had was soft scrub. I used it once and could tell a difference. I used it again today and cleaned it again and it's almost as good as new. Guess I need to do more reading than thinking.

"Bar Keepers Friend" Used with a stiff Brass Brush or Nylon Brush really works wonders on the DMT's

I found it to work better then the actual DMT cleaner kit

Never used those but the best thing I found is the slurry stone that comes with the choseras, that gets em clean and quick.

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I scrub mine with a plastic brush and dish soap. Mine is definately becoming less effective though. I use it every day and I would be surprised if it lasted another 6 months.

Once it stops leaving scratches i'll probably upgrade to a Atoma. I hate how much the DMT plates stick. Although for honing on them DMT plates cannot be beat.
