Thanked: 246Cream sounds like the same thing I call tan or beige. As far as I know there are only two Strata varieties, then there's the Red.

Mine is grey with really cool shades of green when wet.

Thanked: 246I only slurried it when I flattened it, don't use it to hone. My Atoma 400 is so worn out it almost leaves a mirror finish on stones though.

Not sure what you mean by mild. They are VERY hard and mine is extremely fine. It does not eat much metal though. Even running a Kanna plane over it barely makes swarf and they are mostly soft iron.
The surface is almost getting burnished now with use, the middle has gotten really shiny. I'm guessing they would polish very well if the entire surface was burnished.

Thanked: 246I am pretty sure these stones work mostly by burnishing on razors. In all my testing I have rarely seen them pull much if any swarf on a razor, even if I go from a DMT 325 to the Apache. Softer things like penknives they can cut a bit more.

What a looker! I might have to upgrade my real estate if he produces more cream with red markings.
