Thanked: 9Very funny....
Now that I'm well into my new hobby of honing razors and taking the forum's advice to test shave my arms (or my cat, if she'd stay still), family now thinks I have some strange disease in that there are bald splotches on both of my arms. Its been quite humorous in that some family/friends think I've gone off the deep end and want to become a barber. Thats pretty funny in its own right, since I can't see worth a damn, and can hardly move my arms, let alone stand/walk for more than 20 minutes or so. Additionally, the cat stays away from my office nowadays since that's where I keep the honing equipment... I did try to get her to sit still while I tried to shave her tummy a while back. She didn't like it.

Thanked: 49Your cat sounds very intelligent. Leave her alone. Unless you are petting or playing with her. No razors.
It's funny, but seriously please stay away from your cat with your razors.“To be fair, I did have a couple of gadgets which he probably didn’t, like a teaspoon and an open mind.”

The good news is that you will eventually get to the stage where you know when you are done so no test shave of the arm required. I still tree top my arm hair when I have finished a touch up just to play around. With the cat, you are holding a surgically sharp instrument, not a good idea with a animal that potentially could squirm or react no matter how docile. Remember many a bad mistake began with good intentions.
A good lather is half the shave.
