Does the diamond plate need to be lapped/sanded before it is used on the wet stone? Or can it be used right out of the box?

The SR I am using will be pro honed and kept separate until my skill is up. Just trying to appease my OCD.

Diamond plates don't need to be lapped but may need to be broken in first depending on the plate
