Wanting opinions from the honemeisters
I ran across some water stones the other day by ZWILLING J.A. HENCKELS the logo is what caught my eye. I have seen the logo on some vintage straight razors on forums and on Ebay. Has anyone used these stones before and if so what is their opinion about them. The one I ran across was a twin stone pro 250/1000.

Thanked: 4828I have never seen one and now I am curious and want one. Good thing there was no pictures otherwise there would be proof. You won't get me to chase Unicorns that easily.

IIRC there was some talk about these a few years ago, and the buzz was that they were Naniwa superstones with the Henckles brand. Not sure if I'm remembering correctly, but someone may be along who knows for sure.

Thanked: 13249I used the 1-3-8 Henckels for just over a year... passed them on to a New Guy a couple of years back the 250 was never used the 1k was pretty worn and the 3/8 had much life left..
There is no doubt in my mind that they are Naniwa SS's I have a set of those also
I haven't seen the 3/8 in some time for sale
Personally I would opt for the New Naniwa SS unless the deal was REALLY good

Well i am currently not in the U.S so when i saw the logo on the stones i was like cool and for the price i had to pick one up. The store had the 3k/8k combo as well but i already had the Naniwa 3/8 combo and the 12k stone since i did not have a 1k stone I snagged it up. I appreciate the info on the stones background i did not know they were naniwa or made by Naniwa that is good to know though. Like i have stated before you always learn something new on this site.
