    Default odd lapping method

So I did something I haven't read about but tried and it worked. I lapped an old coti I got from flea market on a slab of granite. I started with wet/dry sand paper till it gave out and I didn' have anymore. Then lapped the rest flat using the slurry. This gave me the idea. So I saved all the liquid in bowl and let it evaporate. Then today I needed to lap a stone so I took some chuncks of the dried slurry put it on the granite and added water. Then lapped a stone. Seems to have worked. Any reason not to do this?

    Works for me
Started with 360 grit on a glass sheet, then got this marble table top I use for honing on,
I just lap on it when I start honing works great
    Saved,
    to shave another day.

If it works for you there is nothing wrong with it

A member here (I can't temember who) told about an even more odd method. Concrete floor. I wouldn't put my rocks through that

Yeah don't think I would do concrete floors. The marble is a big smooth chunck and the slurry is from coticule so the abrasive is the same as the stone and works pretty quick because of that.

Some here might remember the practice of applying old slurry powder onto leather strops. I guess not much different than paste.

Any other uses for used slurry??
