Default Bought a hone, possibly a Coticule???

Hey, I found this hone at an antique shop while visiting my folks. I thought it looked like a coticule (from the pictures I've seen) but I wanted to see what you guys thought.
When I was paying for it, the owner mentioned the stones had belonged to a Barber. It looked like it had been used quite a bit, without lapping, so I took some sandpaper and cleaned it up. Well, here it is.

Thanks for the confirmation guys. Coticules seem to have a following, so I thought it would be nice to have one.

They had another stone at the store I wish I had gotten. After doing some research, I think it was an Escher stone.

    It is close to 1 5/16" W x 5 7/8" L x 5/8" H. I should have put something by it for reference.

It's in another state. I asked my Dad to see if they still had it for me.
I would have gotten it then, but I'm on a tight budget. Now that I know the coticule is real, I'm willing to spend the money on the grey stone.

If the stone is an Escher you would have recognized it by its label. Without a label it is a Thuringian at best.

Good score! I found one at flea market for a few bucks last year so I know how pleased you must be. It looks like yours is bigger than mine

Oh, I didn't know all the Escher stones had a label engraved in the stone. The only labels I've seen pictures of were on boxes.

What are the dimensions of your coti? I thought the I bought was probably a pretty common size.

My 'luck' is probably more from process of elimination! I can't tell you how many shops I've been in. I found plenty of overpriced empty boxes and junk razors. It can get frustrating.

    Just keep trying!
