Default Smiling blade . . . how to sharpen

I recently sharpened a razor using lapping films, right from setting the bevel to final edge. What I am wondering now is, how would I do this on a blade with a slight smile?
Is it as simple as rotating the edge as it passes from one end to the other?

The rolling 'X' stroke is the recommended method.

It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

Not only will it help hone a smile but the rolling X-stroke can help with a number of issues including uneven honewear and geometry issues. Good Luck.
