    Actually if you have done the 60 laps on crox before or done it on multiple occasions then there's a good chance that your bevel is slightly convex.

    Try marking the bevel with permanent marker and do some strokes on your b-hone. If the marker is removed all the way to the apex of your bevel then it's good. If there is even a little bit just barely visible left then you have to remove some more metal to get a really good edge.

    im certain it is but i would have figured after 40 circles then 40 strokes on a b hone it would have been good but maybe not

    here is really a conundrum to go along with it, i had 2 razors that just scraped didnt pull, i used it way beyond pulling both were honed by me on film one was new the 7/8 the other is a vintage 4/8 the 7/8 is the one I have been honeing and cant get it right tonight i did 40 on the 4/8 light strokes as normal and it shaved well, its no j nat bbs shave , but it did shave pretty well. andthe 4/8 das a verry apparent warped blade that i use the rolling stroke on the 7/8 is straight.

    Barbers hones are supposed to be no more than 4-7 moderate to slow passes no pressure. That's it. Strop and go. Sounds like you over did it and burned the edge. May have to reset on 4k or 8k and start over.

    An Old Friend of mine once wrote and later said;

    "It's always good to taste someone else's baking".

    Perhaps you might consider sending the problem razor out for someone else to evaluate and work on. While I've honed several hundred razors for myself and for others; I know that I'm not 'Above' asking for help from those that have honed 'Thousands' when I run into a problem razor.

    I do have a favorite Pro PM me if you are interested. If you do/I'll make you an offer.

    I hope you give my suggestion more than a moment of thought.
