Thanked: 246Very nice buddy. That's much easier to go surf through than the old Flickr pages. It's shaping up very well. Why are some pages password protected?

Razorlovestones.com page on natural hones
Thanks Eric, yeah its much easier to look thru the page. Actually iam going to add as much information on the stones and on the companies...
Especially the company stuff need an enormous amount of time and checking legal requirements because f.ex. Dealing with old contracts of quarries you have to name the references on the archive, you have to keep some rules not to make any names of people public which still might live today etc. for informations of actual living people and their made statements you have to ask for a permission to make them public....so its more work behind one single post on some of the stones then just adding text and pictures...
Here an example, added the official documents of the "JGES Patent" of the reformed or synth thuringian Stones...to make it available you have to check the status and the legal topics...
https://razorlovestones.wordpress.co...5/19/jges_019/
About the passwords...Just a very logical thing...these are posts i created with content and pictures, but a proper statement about the testing is still missing or some relevant text is still missing. So i made them unofficial...Last edited by doorsch; 05-24-2015 at 07:17 AM.

I will probably step on this idea because i like it. On the other Hand its quite difficult to bring different steps or progressions on tape and then explain them to be well understandable...
Video in generell is a great medium, but filming, viewing, recutting, sounddesigning and uploading is a very hard and slow process which needs a lot of time...so i will firstly proceed with the stone Videos i think...███▓▒░░.RAZORLOVESTONES.░░▒▓███

Some news about the page to keep all updated. Some more features will be updated soon, that is what will come in near future or is already implemented:
- Create a sort menu: possibility to sort stones in concerns of company, grit rating, color and geological type [DONE]
- implement a site which is usable in two different languages: started to implement two languages [started, partly]
- create company profiles on interesting, today non existent companies dealing with whetstones [started]
The following companies already have drafts and are nearly ready:
- Fassbinder & Co. Solingen (F&Co.)
- Escher & Co., Sonneberg (E&Co.)
- Bösenberg, Trinks & Co., Sonneberg/Hamburg (B.T.C.)
these will follow sometime in future:
- Deutsche Schleifmaterialien Gesellschaft, Steinach (DSG)
- Carrières Burton Grandjean (Burton Rox), Lierneux
- Karl Brächer Jr., Sonneberg (KBjr.)
- Schleifmittel Aktiengesellschaft, Sonneberg (SAG)
- S.R.D. Droescher (Severin Robert Droescher)
There will also be a short information about Solingen dealing with water razor hones in form
of private labels or trademarks and the trading business with Sonneberg. Don't know how much
i can research to this topic, so at the moment its just an idea.███▓▒░░.RAZORLOVESTONES.░░▒▓███

So guys the next updates have been started on Razorlovestones......
I created a new Blog Post about the Company Profiles, so its just the beginning to start with these....
I already have collected a lot of information on the companies selling all the nice stones we here mostly all love.
This is the overview Page for the company profiles, as you can see there are already many
companies mentioned.
https://razorlovestones.wordpress.co...pany-profiles/
You can see the companies name, the shortcut, the city, when the company was set up and closed and an actual status: planned, draft and skipped...
So the first release will be a huge variety on information about F. Ghelfi, Birolleau & Cie. (F.G.B.C.), they sold
the very fine french stones labelled as "La lune" and "Special Stone only for Good Razors"....
....will there be any new information inside...yes for some.....ist the riddle of the origin of stones solved...
...a pity, no its still not...
I also started to set up the sticky section on the page, which shows up like a picture wall within the latest 6 page entries....
Then there will be another Blog post concerning the connection between Solingen as one of the most well known
knife and razor City and their trading connection to east Germany and the Whetstone companies around Sonneberg and Steinach....Last edited by doorsch; 08-11-2015 at 02:37 PM.
