    Default New Coticule/ razor

Just received these babies today and my oh my pictures do not do coticules justice I have a strange feeling ill be buying a bigger one soon and I ordered a new(to me) razor to test drive this beautiful stone, I went from no cutting (or even catching) on hht to silently (but still a slight Pop) cutting of the hair in 10 minutes on This stone(30 laps milky slurry, 20 diluted, ~40 plain water and 80 or so laps on 2 strops). I've never felt another Coticule but it feels like swiping the razor on Glass with just water, slurries after around 10 laps, and I can't scratch it with my nail.

The razor says Jr Torrey "Extra hollow ground." I don't know anything about it except it was on e-bay for 30.00

That's the size cotti I want, good score. I don't own a Torrey but I hear they are great razors. You going to do the one stone method?

Honestly, Torrey is one of those sleeper companies that created phenomenally great razors.

Awesome I look forward to shaving with this one.

And for the coti, the superior shave has a bunch in that size for $70, And yes I got it for one stone honing razors that dont need much work.

I know you are going to like that combination. I just Torrey-coti'ed the other day. The smooth, dare I say soft, character of the edge made a shave feel like not much was happening. Presto. A 36-hour shave off one stone. My last Torrey was a very nice junkstore find and after setting a new bevel it went to the top of my heap. A coticule for refresh or more does it no harm.

First shave went awesome, for my first time coti honing, ill end up with some 5 o'clock shadow, but i know ill get better with some practice, the razor performed admirably and the edge was very gentle, so idk whether to be more excited about the coti or the razor as it was the first time for both!!

I love a torrey razor. I think they're fantastic American made razors (probably the best American made IMO). I have a like new Torrey Double Concave with MOP covered tang and it's super cool. You'll like your new toy.
