Thanked: 168Hone identification - French hone or what
I get also this 16.5 x 5.5 sm hone quite hevy and dense . A hard and wear resistent stone . It hurt my hands to lapp with the coarsest DMT avaible .
With slurry is fast stone in a 5 or 6 k range , on plain whater gives verby fine edge as it works fast .
With glycerine and oil it gives amaizing edge .
Is a hard stone that works with a surface . And very pretty also .
Did someone know something more abbout it , please .

Thanked: 98I noticed that stone right away in the pictures in another thread, I'd like to know where it came from too.
There is something familiar in the grey cloudy swirls in that stone but I can't place it.

Well it looks like mine green Vulcan hone. That's a rock I collected by hand on Tenerife, cut and lapped it myself.
It's very hard, and a great finisher.
Perhaps I'm not the first who got that idea? :-)
