    Gents,

    Thanks for a lot of info in a short period of time. I am researching every Brand, Grit, and Combination that have been mentioned. I am going to let this thread breathe for a day or four and read all comments.

    Yes, but I'm still a noob too...

    Like you are now, I did much reading here on SRP, and I found the Naniwa's and the Norton's have a good reputation for providing easily repeatable results.
    The Naniwa's are far better than my honing skills right now, and I still get good shaves off the razors I have honed on them.

    Like rhensley, after my skills are confirmed, I will seek out a Suehiro 20k.
