Help to ID new large stone/hone
Looks not like the purple variant...was that one from UK ? And another, is the number within a wood sign or is it on the back of the stone...?
Here is the reference check the post and Neils information...also the sign for the Housenumber or Name which is used there quite often...

Thanked: 16The number is on the stone I will add pic of that too.. I read your link and this seems like the same stone. It definayely has the same green spots and after playing around for few minutes (I'm only a beginner). It feels like a vintage thuri and would only be better with some lapping

Thanked: 98Now that is the size stones I like. One would think that in the land mass of America there would be numbers of stone styles. Searches so far have not yielded much info except arkansas, going to try different search criteria.
US Geological survey and finding the specific type of deposit will lead to some finds.Last edited by FAL; 07-30-2015 at 03:20 AM.

Thanked: 16I have used this stone since posting the pics. It does give a great edge on knives but have not tried on razor. I have another smaller one I usually use being I have not lapped this one flat yet.
