That would be my suspicion as well. Clean and lap it and then get some daylight shots wet and dry.

Tough to tell for sure. It looks like it could be to me but pictures can add different color tones and I could be wrong. The BBW side looks it but coti side looks maybe different color or maybe very dirty. Could be any combo stone I guess but I would take the chance and buy if it is cheap enough and hope it is a coti!

Don't think so but not sure.. Think it's on the link you sent anyway but in another currency. If under $50 usd I'd probably buy

To my eye, it looks too course to be a Coti and the smoother of the two surfaces looks grey vice yellowish. The coarser side looks too coarse to be BBW. Looks more like an old oil stone. I have an old, cheap oil stone like that my Grandfather gave me years ago. Not good for much other than pocket knives.

If the price is right, might be worth playing the hone lottery.

A while back there was a post about a Russian hone that looks a little bit like a coti. One side sand stone one side something else. The op said that they were some times found in eastern Europe. Maybe it's one of those.

I don't know who posted it but maybe a Google search will leave to the post.
