Attachment 209316Quick 5 mins cleaning
On the first post the large chipped one, is probably a Black Ark. Don’t lap it, just bevel the corners and put a large carbon steel knife on it. If you don’t feel any chips, put a razor on it. If you lap it you will lose all the years of burnish.
Glue some 80 grit wet & dry to a piece of 5 gal paint stir stick and some 220 to the other side and bevel the edges, don’t touch the face until you test it. You can clean it with a Simple Green soak.
Nice find on both.
After cleaning up everything from yesterday by soaking in almost straight simple green and sitting in 90 deg sun all day here is what I have. I know one is a large 8x2 coti and bbw that need to be glued together but do seem to be a pair and was in a box. Couple small arks. And 2 I have no idea on. One looks like a hard ark the big black one but may be a type of slate. Maybe the pic of the bottom will help show the type of stone. Also a nice grey one I am not sure about. Also a nice yellow lake can tell by the green spots..
