If you do choose to use the Norton lapping hone, please be aware that it is not flat when it is new.
Yup, you need to lap your lapper. Now, if you do proceed to lap your lapper and then lap with your lapped lapper, you need to be aware that lapping with your lapped lapper will cause it to no longer be flat so that means that each lapping with your lapped lapper will cause you to need to re-lap your lapped lapper.
So I usually use a diamond plate!
Very good Ron! This gave me a good laugh!

Unfortunately I would recommend not using the norton lapping stone. I have one, and its a disaster. DMT's are the only way to go unless you want to do sand paper glued to marble tiles.
