Default Found a Coti in the wild yesterday (pic heavy)

I went to an antique shop yesterday and saw a dirty old rock in a display case and I felt obliged to check it out. I found the lady with the keys and she opened it up and hot damn if it wasn't a coticule. For only $9.95 too. Boy I was grinning from ear to ear. It was dished pretty dang bad but after a while, a long while, on the DMT I got her straightened out. There's about a 1mm dimple near one edge which I think I'll try to fill with some CA glue. I think she's awfully pretty. And I still can't believe I found one in the wild Anyone have an idea on ID?

That's a great score. The colouring on it is very nice and probably really pops when it has some water on it. Lots of usable material left too which means lapping shouldn't be an issue. Congrats!!

The coloring looks like a 'La Dressant Au Bleu' that I have...my best and hardest Coticule finisher.

30-40? That's awesome. This one makes number 3 for me. Maybe I'll catch up to you one day I've got an old natural combo and a La Veinette and they both perform beautifully. I love them and the edges I get. I look forward to seeing how this one performs.

And not one of them is identified as being from a particular vein. This vein ID stuff began just a few years ago and I have little faith in its benefit. I don't fault the interest--only the benefit. I realize others disagree and I not looking for an argument, but these are rocks that differ along more factors than just from which vein they came.
