I have a 5k chosera absolutely love the choseras..My 5k is the older type not the new pro series..I have it for about 4 years. Have used it on many razors. .Its really starting to craze where i can actually feel it woth my fingernail..Do the new pro series present the same problems?

If left wetted for a prolonged time, yes, they will.

My understanding is that they can be soaked for 5-10 minutes, but should not be left soaking for long periods or it will damage them....but I've always followed the 5-10 minute advice nd never had a problem.

I believe the magnesium binder is unchanged between the former chosera and newer pro versions. I think the best thing to do is to lap it down bit and see if that solves it.

I don't think the choseras need more than a minute of soaking and in this instance now that it already is crazing, I would keep the water exposure to a minimum by just spraying the top with wate and then wiping it with your hand to uniformly distribute it. Then keep on repeating as necessary.

That happened to my sigma II 13k, it is no longer with us as it fell apart when I let it dry out too much. It was my mistake as I wasn't supposed to soak the hone for prolonged periods. I hope yours is salvageable.

I returned a 5K to the vendor for crazing. They replaced it and now the new one is crazing. Weird, Of the 4 Choseras that I own, the 5K is the only one that has crazed. You cannot feel the crazing with your fingernail. I'm not going to try and return the 2nd one. I have never soaked it but splashed and went.

My only experience with crazing was with one of my Shapton pros that was left on a sunny shelf too often thus drying quickly.
I now put them away wiped but not dry.
