If you haven't found somebody to help you 1 on 1 you should. They will need a pic of what you have done so far. I don't know why nobody ever suggests it here but Skype and a cam taught me a LOT about programming 3D. Heck if doctors can operate over the net why can't we teach someone how to hone ? Live is the best though and I bet there is somebody a lot closer than you think.
