Thanked: 67My initial tests (on knives) with the two larger oilstones indicates that these are nice, reasonably fast hones around the 2-4K level. They're very consistent, and I see no evidence of inclusions. I'm glad, as I do have a lot of finishers, but not too many medium- to low-grit natural hones.
I tested one of them on my my W&B FBU and it seemed to do a good job on the razor too. I'm still not sure exactly where these hones would fit on a progression. More tests need to be done with and without slurry. I'm not sure that they are fast enough without slurry to be used to bridge a 1K to 8K jump.
