    I think the proof is in the using. How good do you think it works? If you think its awesome then it is what you think it is.

    No it is just an indication if it is the original hone. If the box is shortly longer, there might have been a small slurry stone attached, which was lost during the years.
    Anyhow, as explained many times - all thuringian hones were mined in 3 areas arond the town Steinach bei small mining companies. The Escher company bought the hones from these miners and glued their label on it. So an Escher label doesn't make the hone a better thuringian than i was before! It is just a label!! and today maybe an indication to get a vintage, good quality thuringian hone.
