Looks like a Salmen hone to me Welsh slate I belive I have several of them some 8"x2"x1" like yours some are the 1/2 inch thickness most of mine have been
That said this is the only Salmen hone I have with the label, all the others are just in the cardboard box's.
I like mine most seem to be about the 8k region, I have found them easy enough to lap and get to a hone ready state, enjoy and congrats.
Oh and Hi there neighbour. didnt realise you lived so close.

I have quite a few different razors, I hone them myself, The main thing is make sure you have one that is shave ready, (If not send it out to a reputable honer there are quite a few here in the UK prices are very reasonable.
Where are you based in Merseyside?

That's close to me less than 10 miles.
I have sent you me contact details in private message, if you want any help or for me just to look at you razors and hones to assess them, just let me know, I'm free most evenings.
Regards
Dean
