Flea market find
So I found a couple hones yesterday. Question is, the orange and white I think is an oil stone (norton?) The combo black probably oil, but the white and the small slate.......
The small slate one came from a ball bearing plant and is supposed to be a fine finisher.

In a way it reminds me of a Arkansas stone I had as a kid about 2.5" long and .5" wide to sharpen pocket knives. But then again I could be wrong. Just looks like one to me.

Thanked: 66The first one is a hard akransas, sometimes called a washita and sometimes not, any description will work as it seems to change as time goes on. You can see the mottled novaculite black spots.

the one with the label looks a lot like the carborundum label i have on a barbers hone.(though this one doesn't look like a barbers hone).

Orange/White looks like it could be an India/Arkansas maybe?
What a curse be a dull razor; what a prideful comfort a sharp one
