New vintage Charnley Forest (Charnwood) hone
Arrived today (in a box marked "FRAGILE", so of course the box was all beat up, looking like someone had perhaps kicked it all the way to me, but the hone apparently suffered no damage).
More photos here
Hard to take a photo such that the colour comes out true to life. It's a very dark greyish green. It's been oiled (before it got to me), and I think the oil is tending to reflect light and, at least in some of the photos, to make it look more light green than it truly is. The surrounding box looks like mahogany to me eyes.

Thanked: 3795OK, that helps. I did not see them in the photos and your description of it being a dark greyish green along with my inability to see any red made me wonder, but I withdraw my doubt!

I don't think the red was showing in any of the other photos in any case. Here's one where I got it to (though if you have red-greeen colour blindness, I suppose it won't be of much help).
