Thanked: 77Possible washita stone
I feel that this is a washita stone but I would like a second opinion.

I've seen some that looked like that. IIRC an old Buck Ark set I had in the '70s included one colored like that.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I've got a lilly white.
When you use it with knives it gives off a slurry that feels like silver sand. Very fine but defiantly sandy textured. It's also pretty porous, And if you suck on a corner you get a mouth full of 100 year old oil...... Doing this however did let me feel air been sucked through the rock. It's only 1 step up from a test lick so I thought what the hell....
Arks don't slurry very much and are pretty much non porous.
I think it looks like a soft Arkansas to me. The surface finish looks too tight and shiny to be washita.Last edited by Iceni; 09-21-2016 at 02:07 AM.

Thanked: 77It's been cleaned but I've done some lapping work since then and the color has changed. I'll take some pictures tomorrow morning. Hopefully
