    Default Shapton Glass 10K

Got a deal on a 10K glass today that was hard to pass up.

Anybody using this one in their progression?

    Fast?

I know that you can really mess an edge up on the 16K if you do too many strokes. Any peculiarities like that with the 10K?

Very interesting I have heard before that the 10k leaves a better shaving edge than the 16k. I doubt that but one never knows.

Shapton stones likes other shapton's. They like to stick to their own.

    Keep us posted.

I have to confess that I never have been able to stop myself from continuing on from the 10k to the 16k. I will endeavor to stop "short" and will compare the shave off of the 10k and the 16k.

I too have not gone beyond the 10k, when using a Shapton, for several years and am satisfied to strop and shave. I seem to use my different hones at different times depending on what razor is being honed.
There probably is a pattern to it but I have not given it enough thought to quantify it. It seems to be an automatic decision depending on which razor is in my hand. My mind usually drifts
while honing but at another level I know exactly the feeling I am getting with blade against hone.
