Thanked: 0EdgeLogix 4k/10k Whetstone
Hi Guys.
I had a quick question regarding a whetstone i picked up. So its a Edgelogix.... I have never heard of them so i couldn't really find any reviews. Its a 4k10k combo Aluminum Oxide Ceramic made in china.
So my question is, should I fork out a bit more for the norton 4k/8k or these china made stones any good?
Thanks guys!

Thanked: 3795Well, put it this way. I've never heard of that hone and odds are that few of us here have. That means if you need advice for using the hone, that advice from here would be based on speculation. On the other hand, if you "fork out a bit more for the norton 4k/8k," there will be a lot of people here who can advise you based upon experience.

I've never heard of it either but a quick search and the only place I see selling them is House of Knives in Canada for $99, perhaps you got a better deal than that. Norton 4/8 is around $80 on amazon. If you are learning to hone I think the Norton 4/8 is the wiser choice because it's tried and true. If you are a more experienced honer try the EdgeLogix and compare it to something you are familiar with. For me, "that something that I am familiar with" is often the Norton 4/8.

Thanked: 0Yea, I've decided i will be returning it. Even at a sale price the familir Norton seems like the logical choice.
Thanks again for the quick replys.
