A small Jnat with a good tomonagura and a small piece of Mejiro nagura will be great for you. Make sure to have a shave ready razor before you leave home, then touch up as needed. Jnats can tolerate humidity so not worries there. If you have worries about rust for the razor, get a Henkels Friodur.

Don't mean to hijack but couldn't resist. I worked in PNG for seven long years. West New Britain and Rabaul areas. Buai stains and very very stinky airplane rides. id my share in destroying the environment as I shipped out tropical hardwood logs to Japan. Lots of memories, a lot of them very bad. Mosquitos worked three 8-hour shifts, got Malaria almost every month. You're right about the humidity.

If it's just a month barring you damaging the edge, shouldn't need any thing more than the strop. Tc

You know I done the oilfield thing all over the world for 40 years, and after I learned to SE a straight I took two razors and a strop, never had an issue, my edges tend to last months on end, if I would have taken a stone it probably would be a decent barbers hone. So take that for what it's worth from a guy who's done it. Plus the silica packs in a suitable box worked for me when I was In The jungle. Tc

10yrs so far. Malaria once. Mostly southern highlands but time all over. No kidding about airplane rides and buai.

I will add another vote for a coti. Renwax wouldn't harm either. Done once a week would make sure that your blade is protected. Only need a little so could repack into a very small container for your trips.

I honed the razor and shaved with it before I left, everything good to go. First shave was grabby. [emoji20] A buddy had a swatty and I gave it a few passes. It improved but still grabby. His Swatty seems more coarse than mine. I suspect it could use a good cleaning. Why a bloke with a full beard carries these things around is a mystery.
So... I need a jungle touch up stone. Barber's hone size... honestly. I'd love a Welsh slate...maybe a black Arkansas. It needs to be durable or boxed. It needs to be humidity tolerant. 75% humidity is a dry day. I've been looking on the bay... annoying. Is everyone into straights these days or is a Swatty really worth $75?? I'll take a Norton or Nani at that price.
If anyone can suggest a source for a nice Pike or Swatty, please PM. I just remembered an Arkansas site, any on slates? PM me please.

I wonder if this would work.

I got one of the three. Hmm can you touch up the edge on a 12k?
