    Hello gents,

Was wondering if anyone could tell me about this hone? Found it today at an antique shop , but not much of the label left.

Don't follow the directions the shop put on it. Never put oil near it. Water only.

Absolutely - no oil, water or dry only.

You may want to consider a light lapping of the stone to flatten it and just get rid of the junk layer, never know what has been on that stone before.....

That was my next question, thanks again gents!

I will give it a light lapping , and I think a gentle chamfer will take care of a couple small chips on the edge.

But looks like its in great shape overall.

You might consider clear coating the labels as well, they add great value to the stone

Its a stone from Escher & Co. and was distributed from SRD (Severin Robert Droescher) who was sole importer for Escher for the US market during a specific time frame.
