    Default NYC honemeister?

Bought a used SR off of EBay, seller stated it was shave ready. So far my experience shaving with it has shown that it's not. This is based on my experience with my Dovo shavette. My SR takes much more effort to move, catches on the hair, and will leave some hairs barely cut. I am very new to SR shaving.

Are there any honing services in NYC or members that perform honing services in NYC? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Years ago e-bay sellers learned quite quickly that SR's sold REALLY high and REALLY fast from certain sellers that listed as "Shave Ready" the problem became that that term was so watered down that it honestly means diddly squat on there any longer..
Two groups of people are hurt by this

The new shaver ie: You who buys the razors and is disappointed worse possibliy doesn't find SRP and ask

The Ebay seller that can really hone, as I just grouped him wrongly with all the others that can't out there

    Dishonestly SUCKS

in the Classifieds under Member Services you will find people that hone professionally and stand behind their edges

Another thing to consider if you haven't already.... the blade angle for using a straight razor is less than a shavette. You might already know this and your problems with the ebay straight are due to the razor not being shave ready as advertised. If not, Lynn's video explains some differences between using a straight razor and a shavette.

I frequently travel to Brooklyn, to visit family. I would be happy to hone some up for you my next trip down.
