Thanked: 0Need help putting a price on rare hones
So I recently came across an old Droescher with original labels, and an old Larkin razor hone in the original box with labels and original slurry stone.
Anyone want to hazard a guess on their values? Curious if I got ripped off or not lol

Sorry but our rules forbid any discussion of values. Try searching eBay for some help.

The old saying is without pictures it didn't happen, but I'll take your word for it.
We don't do appraisals on SRP. Against the rules since before I was a member beginning in '08.
That said, Droescher was a distributor of barber supplies and it really depends on the hone. I've seen coticules with that label, and Thuringans. I don't know about the Larkin, is that a barber hone ?
For value do a completed items search on ebay, or check the Buy-Sell-Trade forums on other big shaving forums that have a large backlog of posts.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 4828(start humor font) I guess it depends on how rare it is. Thaeris has a hone that there was only two produced.
(start serious font) As stated Droescher had a wide variety of product. They are all generally regarded as of the best products available at the time. If it is a coticule, it is likely to be and extra fine select grade, if it is a water hone it is most likely a thurigan and as possible it has and Escher label on it as well. Hones do vary a lot in price. There are some with very extensive collections of hones that are not user grade hones, and those people place more value than people who use them. If you look up sold listings on Ebay you need to bear in mind that condition is everything. It may also take you a while to find con=mparable listings if the condition is pretty much new old stock. Those do not come up for sale in the open quite that often. It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!
