Jnats, these things are incredible! I can make an incredibly keen and sharp shaving edge on just about any Jnat now. How long did it take for some of you guys to, "just get it", when it comes to using these incredibly advanced stones. I prefer fast cutting suita's and renge's right now. They seem so very communicative to me, almost to the point of babbling to me. I really dig it. I look over at my modest pile of jnats thinking about how I want to approach putting an edge on any given razor. Some steels though are definitely harder for some jnats to deal with and just, "go silent" on me. Its like, I look at the stone and say, " I'm sorry, did I use the wrong Nagura for this steel?" I reach for a deeper orange naggy, clean off the old stuff, then begin to work in the new one. I stop just before paste forms. Lay the blade in the new bed of micro cutting particles and begin to make laps. Right away the stone tells me, "this Nagura will be fine, be cognizant of your pressure and watch me lay waste to the metal in this blade." Gotcha, will do...
