Thanked: 101New 1K hone
Well I was looking around for a 1K hone as many here know. Went on Amazon & found the Shapton Pro 1K model KO702 for a great price. This hone is the version they sell in Japan. It is made to stand up to the very humid climate found in Japan. It has the same orange color & orange case with stone holder as the regular 1K hone. Got it leveled out last night so I will try it out this afternoon. I will say this hone didn't need much time to get it lapped. It was very close to level in the first place. I will give her a try when I get home from PT this afternoon & let you know my first impressions of it.

Thanked: 3795I have the "standard" Shapton Pro 1k and I like it. It is a hard hone by feel but it gets the job done. I have not used your version but I would assume it to be comparable in performance to mine.
The price of your variation is pretty much the same as a Naniwa Traditional 1k in case anyone is looking for another lower priced option. I have that one and certainly can recommend it as a great performer for any price.
