Thanked: 59Anchor Straight Razor Finisher/Polisher
From Griffith Shaving Goods. I literally can find no comments about this stone anywhere on the net....anyone help? Looks interesting, I love a good finisher.

I did run the gauntlet to find it. Interesting looking stone. I have never heard of it, but many stones I have not heard of.
Do everyone a favor & edit your post by providing a link to it, please.
Maybe someone has some experience with it to share.

Kinda funny I was just looking at these the other night. I honestly did not know what to think of it, contains iron oxide? Contains rust? I guess that seems like something I don't care to run my razor across. Hell I can go find a rusty stone locally for less than $110. Not only that I can buy a known finisher for less than that and still go rock hunting.

Thanked: 481My guess is FeOx in its natural form is a bit different than the brown schmootz that forms on our tools. This is the only ferrous hone I've laid eyes on. There are a lot of hones I haven't seen though, and I haven't seen any rule that says a hone can't be ferrous.
That isn't too high a price considering what some finishers run, so if it performs it wouldn't be a bad buy. If I had the money to gamble with I'd try it out.

I admit I honestly never thought of iron oxide as a natural form so I can see your point marshal, I just associated FeOx with rust on tools as you mention and fenders and such. I did learn a that it is Rhode Islands state rock : ) from what I take from the product description this stone almost compares to the PHIG. Maybe it does not take as many strokes as PHIG? I say compare meaning its a natural stone with no real grit definition not comparing quality. Thanks for setting me straight gents always like learning.
