Thanked: 2New hone
Good morning gentlemen!! Been a while since I've got to the computer- pesky work gets in the way sometimes😞.... just wanted to throw up a small rave about a new hone I got a couple weeks ago.... if anyone has seen my posts, it's easy to see my case of stage 4- H.A.D.....wife is constantly on my case about all the "heavy worthless rocks" I've got stashed all around the house.... and the trucks and cars..... and the shop..... and the storage unit.... But, like I said, small rave about this new Lee Valley 4K/8k I just picked up off the bay- like many others I thought solely because I got it for under 30 bucks that it was going to be one of those "eh, maybe later" stones..... completely wrong!!! This little guy is in brand new condition, and quickly becoming my favorite stone in the lineup!!!! After the slurry builds, this stone cuts fast as a carborundum stone on the 4K side (never would put one of my razors on a carb stone, just using as a description of the aggressiveness here)......then a quick rinse and back to the smoothest feeling 4K ever... the 8k side feels like pure silk yet still cuts steel like it was mad at it!!!! Anyone ever get their hands on one of these?? I've got coti's, eshers, j-nats, naniwas, shaptons, kings, and metalmasters, and I swear this Lee valley is possibly the most overlooked treasure I've ever had the pleasure to use!!! (My "me" time is almost always in the form of honing razors about three to four hours every single day) anyhow, just wanted to put this out there and ask for a heads up if anyone happens to see another of these homes floating around anywhere..... preferably an 8x2-1/2 or 8x3??!! Thanks for always being helpful everyone!!!! Sincerely, Danny(RazorAddict)

Thanked: 3795Does it have any brand name on it?
I checked the Lee Valley website but could not find anything like what you are describing.
Not that I would buy one anyway. That company permanently has lost my business.

Thanked: 2Sorry guys!! I have tried myself for the last few days to find something... anything on this hone online, so I could at least post a link... seems as this hone is an orphan child I will however post up some pics when I get home- the box is in pristine condition, so maybe someone with a touch more investigative skills might be able to unearth some intel on this one!! If you find anything, please post it up!! I like this one so much I'd like to have a couple spares just in case they happen to be one of the one hit wonders and not slated for production again....And, a big thank you to all the guys on this forum for always jumping to help a fellow razor enthusiast!!!!

Thanked: 2No sir, the stone itself has no markings... except for the grit stamped on the sides.... I'm starting to wonder if it is some other stone placed in a Lee valley box??

Thanked: 2I was trolling around and came across a pile of hones under the King water stone link and under the pile was a box or two that looked ridiculously close to this one.... it's a definite possibility Aerdvaark!! They wouldn't zoom enough for a positive identification, but the color scheme was the same....
