Thanked: 2New hone
Good morning gentlemen!! Been a while since I've got to the computer- pesky work gets in the way sometimes😞.... just wanted to throw up a small rave about a new hone I got a couple weeks ago.... if anyone has seen my posts, it's easy to see my case of stage 4- H.A.D.....wife is constantly on my case about all the "heavy worthless rocks" I've got stashed all around the house.... and the trucks and cars..... and the shop..... and the storage unit....
But, like I said, small rave about this new Lee Valley 4K/8k I just picked up off the bay- like many others I thought solely because I got it for under 30 bucks that it was going to be one of those "eh, maybe later" stones..... completely wrong!!! This little guy is in brand new condition, and quickly becoming my favorite stone in the lineup!!!! After the slurry builds, this stone cuts fast as a carborundum stone on the 4K side (never would put one of my razors on a carb stone, just using as a description of the aggressiveness here)......then a quick rinse and back to the smoothest feeling 4K ever... the 8k side feels like pure silk yet still cuts steel like it was mad at it!!!! Anyone ever get their hands on one of these?? I've got coti's, eshers, j-nats, naniwas, shaptons, kings, and metalmasters, and I swear this Lee valley is possibly the most overlooked treasure I've ever had the pleasure to use!!! (My "me" time is almost always in the form of honing razors about three to four hours every single day) anyhow, just wanted to put this out there and ask for a heads up if anyone happens to see another of these homes floating around anywhere..... preferably an 8x2-1/2 or 8x3??!! Thanks for always being helpful everyone!!!! Sincerely, Danny(RazorAddict)
