That looks like an oil soaked Lilly White Ark. I soaked one in Simple Green for almost 6 months, to get it to release all the oil and back to white. Changing the solution every couple weeks.

I almost always have a half dozen stone soaking, under the sink. I keep 3 jars, with different levels of cleanliness.

Picked up this 6 inch Yellow Green Thüringen yesterday. It popped out of the case with a tap of a hammer, soaking in oven cleaner now, and will go into the soup for a long soak.

I change all the solution, when I think about it, every couple weeks or so. Some take longer than others. Noviculites take longest.

Ok, a happy surprise, after a quick degreasing, and lapping on a 140 plate, it is not a Thüringen, but pretty sure it a, super hard, Charnley Forrest.

Had a little dip in the middle but lapped flat.

Put a smoking edge on a Clauss, after a 2k bevel set and polish on a soft fast Karasu with a Diamond and Black Tsushima nagura. Made a thin milky slurry with a 1k diamond plate and thinned 100 or so laps to clear.

Left a nice Kasumi finish and killer edge.

This, well used, little stone is a finisher, I almost feel bad, haggling the gal down to 6 bucks from her asking 8… well almost…
