Thumbs up Where the magic happens...

Completing a full nagura sequence that transforms my Norton 8k edge into something men have fought over for years... Yes, the the last few passes on my non Asano approved Koma nagura on top of a mile high block of level 4.5 Takashima light Karasu. It begins its journey as a light but dense white cloudy lake then turning into a grey soupy rain cloud. As I reach for my face to feel the stuble, I smile knowing that it has been a full day of growth. Soon to be swept off my face gracefully by the tips of angle wings lightly sweeping across the skin.
    Can you dig it?!

Those are very nice looking stones! I think that getting a nice finishing stone should be my next step as well, my diamond spray isn't going to work forever. I watched a few videos including Lynn Abrams, but I'm still a little concerned about trying it. Assuming that I'm really careful with it, what are the chances that I trash an expensive blade, is that possible, or am I worried for nothing?

You're not going to hurt anything by using a nice natural finishing stone. Not to worry...The only thing you have to fear is fear itself...

That's the best news I've got all day. I guess I need to start shopping around for one. Any suggestions on the best place to pick up something really nice? Oh, thanks for the help, I really appreciate it.

Beautiful stone. I love what it does for me.

New mission in life: de-mystifying honing. It ain't nuclear science. If you can hit a baseball, you can hone. Hand / eye coordination. That's it. If you can lay the blade on the stone, flat, level, and draw it across, you can hone. The rest is refinement.
A little advice: Don't impede an 80,000 lbs. 18 wheeler tanker carrying hazardous chemicals.
