Thanked: 14Rescue coti
this battle scarred fragment I recognized as from a glued coti missing the backing.
After lapping, on a whim I decided to attach it to a scrap piece of vinyl board. The vinyl was easily cut to the odd shape and perfectly waterproof as it is designed to frame exterior windows & etc.
Its surface is the most 'wavy oak' pattern of any of my cotis, with the grain appearing and disappearing with rotation toward light source (similar to ivory). swarf collects first on the browner bands, remaining visible even under clear water (no slurry) probably by electric attraction as it is easily wiped off.
it is very fast, here is swarf on one end after a few circles with a Schrade USA carbon steel pocket knife. the backing gives a nice working height.
One sheffield razor on it so far, and a lot of fun. It does slurry easily as well, a nice yellow cream.

Thanked: 4826It could be from a paddle also. Either way a nice coti is handy to have. Enjoy!
