For a propper ID you need to lap the stone at least on one face and a side...that means start at 80-100 grit and go uo ti 3-400...then when you have removed all the dirt and scratch marks get some clear pictures of it dry, wet, and wet with slurry.

It could be anything from these pics...looks like a lower grit hone.
