    I'm fairly sure the economical series could do the job. Their Traditional, Super Stone, and Chosera have all been given a nod as razor friendly 1K stones. Unless they got extra cheap with the binder there's probably no reason the economical series won't perform well too.

    Just to say that I'm still curious about this 1k/3k combo. I've used the Suehiro 1k/3k combo over the past three years and really love it followed by a coticule. So why change it if it works? To try something different, and the Naniwa 1k/3k, at 2-1/8" x 6-7/8" seems tailor-made for hand-held honing.
