Thanked: 3215The La Luna stones were both purple and grey, and some probably a mix of the two, chocolate brown.
What color is the slurry and how does it finish?
The good thing, is in my experience, that size was cut for razor finishing, not tools or knives, as seen in Coticules and Slates, (Barber’s Delight).
Lapping and some wet photos may tell you more, but I suspect you have a nice finisher. I have had good edges, finishing with oil, mineral or synthetic, (Smiths here in the US). I wash them with dish soap after use and it remove all the oil, so it does not get rancid.
Nice find. Here is a post on the sizes they came in, perhaps that may help.
