Thread: Naniwa SS or Naniwa chosera* or Shapton glass or Shapton pro?

Thanks for the replies! Keep me coming please...I use chosera 1k, Shapton glass 4k, 8k and have several finishers! I sold my Nani SS stones before I learned to hone lol. I wondered if I should get the Nani SS 3k or 5k and get the 8k? I understand they leave a gentler edge leading up to jnat etc?

I replaced my norton 1k-8k stone and with chosera 1k SS 3 5 8 12. For finishing stone I have shoubudani/ Thuri bout as finishers. Although I have a 10-12k ish full size jnat with a nagura set that I enjoy using more but I need more practice before I stop using synthetic

It has been said many times that either option works, but if you are considering 1k,3k,8k versus 1k,5k,8k, then in my opinion the former is the better option because the 3k will do a better job of eliminating the 1k scratches.
