Regarding "wanting it to be true" I guess that's up to each person. It looked good in the images available to me, certainly wasn't any 'too good to be true' deal, so I figured I was safe with the buy.
You can't see it in the pictures but the stone was held down with a piece of 3M tape, and the nicks in the bottom of the stone do not match the stone fragments left behind in the box from the original stone being removed.
I do believe that the box and label might be authentic, but the stone itself is rubbish... which is all I really care about tbh.
That hone does not look like an Escher to me. Too shiny, too stripy and no sawmarks. If that was sold as an Escher you were duped.
