Thanked: 9Does Anyone Have Any Info on Aloxite Superfine #200 "Bench Stones" ?
I scored a white Aloxite stone that seems finer than frog hair. It's 6 x 2 x1 , white as can be, easily stained by swarf, possibly a little softer than an India. I lapped it to 800 w/d and it quickly broke down to a wonderful smoothness. Info on the web for the bench stones is scarce. Anyone know approx. what grit this thing is?

Wait for "Modine" or PM him. Aloxite is Aluminum Oxide used as a grit and trade named by that company. I have a thinner white one at about 8K and a Barber Hone at abut 8-10K.
They made a lot of hones and style numbers.Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.
