Thanked: 1338" long swaty
was on everyone's favorite auction site killing time and I ran into this thing. It says Franz Swaty Marburg Austria. Thought this was an interesting stone I would see if anyone had experience with something like this. The one from this picture is not mine (not planning on getting it either) just thought it was cool and worth showing.

It is for real it may not be as fine as some or very nice. I have two and one was a keeper, t'other was a knife hone, good but not razor quality.

Thanked: 13245Yep I have one myself, it is the only Swaty I kept for me
I mess with it now and then for "Nostalgia""No amount of money spent on a Stone can ever replace the value of the time it takes learning to use it properly"

A good example of why I don't possess or try to find NOS objects.
I would have a very hard time holding that and not rubbing it with something to see if it was any good.

It's easy! Just go over to Modine's review. Seems there are better Swatys?
I only had one Swaty I used for a finisher as I first began.
Forget which it was, but it worked great for what it was.
