Thanked: 41I'd love to see more feedback on how good the hones are after all this. Some SRP members won't touch a reconditioned barber hone... Is that because the process is hit-or-miss?

Thanked: 246It really depends on the breakdown of the hone binder. As long as the breakdown isn't happening and it's smoothed out enough after lapping, the hone should be as good as new.

Thanked: 101That John Primble is one of the best Barber Hones ever made. I have two & they work great. I use Ballistol as a lube when I flatten about ant hone & I mix about 30% Ballistol to 70% H2O. Works great!
