Interesting question, My experience with a coti edge is that it is very forgiving I can pretty much go bananas all over my face with the razor not feel like its going to scratch or cut within reason. I get a sort of relaxed attitude and may not be too concerned with pressure using the blade against my face. on the other hand the SG-20 edge I feel is reasonably smooth at least smoother than other synth finishers out there. Certainly way better than a lapping film edge regarding smoothness but there is potential to produce a very keen edge with the 20k and that much keen isn't going to forgive a nonchalant shaver if he presses too hard or makes some wild turns on his face. A coti edge user may have to rethink his technique a little and just use that "shave the lather" mindset for the 20k. I don't find shaving with the 20 k irritating at all and its a damn efficient shave you could get away with one pass and a few touch up strokes and it would be good. 2 or more passes and its ultra BBS. I like shaving with both edges. I enjoy both stones for variety.
